Low Maintenance Deck?

By Tom Tynan

Trex has developed a beautiful and low maintenance decking material with their new Trex Transcend
line. These materials have high defi nition wood grain patterns with the fi nishes engineered to have a lowsheen
as well as having the ability to survive high traffic while maintaining its pristine look for decades.

The maintenance with the decking material is virtually nonexistent; that is unless you consider an occasional cleaning with soap and water work! The outer shell protects the exposed surfaces, requires no sanding, no staining and no painting – EVER! Interestingly, this decking material is made of 95% recycled products including plastic shopping bags, reclaimed wood and sawdust – no trees are used, and no harvesting is done in the rainforests.
